Canalfront development for Kochi | Urban Design
Reimagining Mullassery canal precinct is a unique opportunity to mould the city’s growth through urban regeneration. The precinct is envisioned as an interwoven greenway of engaging public space, coinciding mobility trajectories and celebrating water all along. The central idea is to revive canal’s natural ecosystem and improve water quality by opening of slabs currently covering the canal to allow aerobic activity, introducing biofilters and aeration fountains. Next, provide access to pedestrians and integrate programs that activate the edges of the canal while responding to local identity.
